WASHINGTON — The registration list for a private UAP data workshop the Pentagon sponsored in August 2025 included attendees from NASA Headquarters, the National Archives’ Information Security Oversight Office, the U.S. Air Force and the Australian government. The list is among 70 pages the Office of the Secretary of War released Sept. 14 under the Freedom of Information Act, in a final response to a request from The Black Vault’s John Greenewald. The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) located 89 responsive pages and withheld 19 in full.
DefenseScoop, which first reported the event in March, described about 40 government, academic and independent participants without naming their institutions. The Black Vault’s Sept. 25 write-up of the release focused on the agenda and on AARO’s outreach to Uruguay.
The list names institutions, not people
Names and titles on the released page are redacted under the FOIA privacy exemption, and part of the page is withheld as deliberative. The visible entries include Harvard’s Center for Astrophysics, the University of Texas at Austin, RAND, Rice University’s Archives of the Impossible, the National UFO Historical Records Center and two registrants from CRIDOVNI, the Uruguayan Air Force’s UAP investigation commission. Three registrants are listed as “Self.” The Australian entry gives no agency.
The two-day workshop, titled “2025 UAP Workshop: Narrative Data, Infrastructures, and Analysis,” met Aug. 5–6, 2025, at the Vienna, Va., offices of Associated Universities Inc. (AUI), which ran it with Florida State University under an AARO statement of work. AARO Director Jon Kosloski shared the keynote with Robert Powell of the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies, according to the working agenda.
AARO hosted Uruguay’s delegation at the Pentagon
Emails from AARO’s partner engagement officer, dated July 2025, set out a full program for the two CRIDOVNI representatives. It included airport pickup at Dulles, hotel rooms provided by AARO, a Sunday Mass with Kosloski, and an Aug. 4 Pentagon meeting with mission briefings from both offices and a session on “future collaboration.” Lunch with Kosloski and AARO’s chief technology officer, Josh Reiter, and a private Pentagon tour followed. The Uruguayan representative wrote that establishing a working relationship with AARO was “of special interest.”
In the same thread, the officer wrote that a Chilean contact in Washington had not answered an invitation meant for participants from Chile’s SEFAA. The officer added that AARO planned “a follow-on data workshop in early 2026.”
A two-week report deadline and a February white paper
The statement of work, dated April 25, 2025, required a workshop report two weeks after the event and a follow-up plan a week after that. The invitation told prospective attendees that outcomes would be shared “promptly, publicly, and transparently.” A DoD clearance request in the release, dated Feb. 9, 2026, submitted AARO’s 18-page white paper for prepublication review. AARO posted the paper that month.

A Pentagon spokesperson, Sue Gough, told DefenseScoop in March that AARO had no additional workshops to announce. The released records do not show whether the early-2026 workshop took place. What’s next: The response letter gives the requester 90 days from Sept. 14 to appeal the withholdings.
